Ronda Schnurr-Smith

Ronda is a registered physiotherapist
and the owner of Impact Physiotherapy & Performance
Inc. She graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton
with a clinical masters degree in physiotherapy in 2003,
and has an honours degree in Kinesiology with a focus on
Sport Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in
London in 2001. During her university years, she worked
as a student therapist with the Men’s varsity football
teams and the varsity women’s basketball team, and
also had involvement with women’s field lacrosse,
rowing and women’s rugby at the intercollegiate level.
She has a keen interest in orthopaedics, sport physiotherapy,
and sport conditioning, and holds a Certificate in Sport
Physiotherapy from Sport Physiotherapy Canada. Ronda is
involved in the Centre-Wellington community as a trainer/physiotherapist
& executive member of the Fergus Devils’ Junior
“C” Hockey Club & is a member of both the
Centre-Wellington and Arthur Chamber of Commerce.
Ronda has received training in the Bonefit
program sponsored by Osteoperosis Canada in the assessment
and treatment of individuals with osteopenia and osteoporosis,
as well as training in the use of physiotherapy to assist
individuals who are actively receiving cancer treatment.

Derek Brown
MPT BAKin
Physiotherapist

Derek graduated from the University
of Western Ontario in 2003 with an Honors degree in Kinesiology
with Psychology and returned to graduate from UWO with a
Masters in Physical Therapy in 2005. Since then he has worked
in both private practice as well as publicly funded areas
of physiotherapy in both Ontario and British Columbia. Most
recently, Derek finished a one and a half year contract
position at the Brantford General Hospital in the Community
Rehab Program, which is a specialized stroke and complex
medical conditions rehabilitation program. During this time,
he gained knowledge and experience in the area of stroke
rehabilitation and has taken a Neurodevelopmental Treatment
(NDT) course for the rehabilitation of specific neurological
conditions. Other areas of interest and experience include
amputee rehabilitation, trigger point therapy, and specific
exercise prescription for common musculoskeletal problems.
Derek also has training in acupuncture and therapeutic taping
for specific musculoskeletal ailments. Currently, Derek
resides with his wife in Guelph and enjoys playing competitive
soccer, playing guitar, travelling, and camping.

Leah Skinner

Physiotherapist

Leah is our physiotherapy resident and the newest member
of the Impact Physiotherapy & Performance team. In September
2010, she graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton
with a masters degree in physiotherapy. Before pursing a
career in physiotherapy, she graduated from Queen’s
University in Kingston with a bachelor of science honours
degree in Biology and Health Studies. As a sport’s
enthusiast she spent her years at Queen’s playing
varsity soccer and numerous other intramural sports including
hockey and basketball. She has a special interest in orthopeadics,
sport physiotherapy and women’s health and is extremely
excited to pursue these interests while working at Impact
Physiotherapy and Performance.

Jennifer Figg
Physiotherapy Assistant
|
Jenn is Impact Physiotherapy & Performance’s
top-notch physiotherapy assistant. She graduated from Humber
College in Toronto with her Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma.
Jenn’s primary rehabilitation interests include core
stabilization, plantar fasciitis and client’s overall
wellbeing. Jenn also performs some administrative duties
at Impact Physiotherapy & Performance.
