Ronda Schnurr-Smith PT, MScPT, BAKin(Hons)
Ronda graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2001 with an Honours degree in Kinesiology with psychology and majored in sports injuries. She then graduated in 2003 with a Clinical Masters degree in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. During her university years, she worked as a student therapist with the Men's varsity football teams and the varsity women's basketball team, and also had involvement with field lacrosse, rowing and rugby at the intercollegiate level. She is a past trainer for the Fergus Devils Junior C Hockey Team as well as with Fergus Thistles Lacrosse. She has a keen interest in orthopaedics, sport physiotherapy, concussions and sport conditioning, and holds a Certificate in Sport Physiotherapy from Sport Physiotherapy Canada. Other areas of interest and training include acupuncture, osteoporosis/low bone mass, vertigo, and the effects of improper breathing on your body. Ronda believes that getting to the root of the problem/injury in combination with providing excellent patient education and learning how to move properly throughout our day to day activities are critical to not only a person's recovery but the keys to preventing injury recurrence. She lives with her husband and two children outside of Arthur where she spends her time gardening, doing home renovation projects and enjoying time with family.
Eric graduated with a B.Sc. in Honours Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 2013 where he studied under world famous back researcher Stuart McGill and was a Research Apprentice in the Spine Biomechanics laboratory. During his time at the University he worked at the Waterloo Regional Cardiac Rehabilitation foundation. After completing his B.Sc. he researched exercise and osteoporosis under Lora Giangregorio at the UW Bone Health lab before completing his Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University in 2015. Eric’s areas of interest are orthopedics, pain science, strength training, and exercise for special populations. Outside of work Eric also contributes to course development in the Physical Therapy program of Western University and the Kinesiology program at the University of Waterloo. Eric also competes in powerlifting and is training towards regionals.
Jennifer Figg Physiotherapy Assistant
Jenn is Impact Physiotherapy and Performance's physiotherapy assistant and has been with the clinic since it opened in 2008. She graduated from Humber College in Toronto with her Physiotherapy Assistant Certification in 2000 and has worked in both private and hospital settings since then. She has taken continuing education courses in neck and back stabilization, breathing evaluation and treatment and Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT). Along with her co-workers, she has become certified through Shift Concussion management for the treatment of concussions. Jenn also performs some administrative duties at Impact Physiotherapy and Performance. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs whether it be walking, hiking, camping or good-old Frisbee in the backyard. Jenn also likes to dabble in photography.
Karen Brownlow Administration/Receptionist
Karen is the newest member of the Impact Physiotherapy & Performance team. She joined our staff in January 2013 in the role as receptionist and administration. Karen was born and raised on a farm just outside of Fergus, moved to Milton where she worked as a medical receptionist and raised her family and has now returned to her Fergus roots where she plans to someday retire with her husband, Dave. She would be happy to help you with any questions you might have regarding physiotherapy care at our facility.
Brittany Lenselink Registered Kinesiologist
Brittany graduated from University of Guelph-Humber in 2015 with Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology and Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion. She has recently become a member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association. During her years in university Brittany participated in a placement position at a personal training facility and with the Physical Education Department at Norwell District Secondary School. Previously to working at Impact Physiotherapy, Brittany worked as a Program Assistant at an Adult Day program for Stroke Rehabilitation in Clinton. Brittany has an interest in Concussions, and looking to continue education and training in Functional Capacity Evaluations. Brittany also performs part-time reception work at the Arthur Impact Physiotherapy and Performance clinic. Currently Brittany lives in Palmerston and on her spare time actively participates in Broomball at a National level and enjoys spending time with her family.
Katie Groen Receptionist
Katie graduated from Conestoga College in 2011 from the general business program. She has lived in Arthur since she was 4 and has since moved down the road from her parent’s house with her husband Joel and children. She enjoys to cook and bake and anything related to Christmas. She also loves to camp with her parents and friends and tries to go as often as she can.
Connie Sega Receptionist
Connie is one of Impact Physiotherapy’s receptionist. She received her P.S.W. Certificate from St. Louis Continuing Education in 2006. She lives in Fergus with her 4 sons and enjoys spending time with them. She enjoys a variety of activities but loves anything related to Christmas. She is happy to include the Impact Physiotherapy Team as part of her family.
