Our Story

Impact Physiotherapy and Performance is a private clinic that was founded in September 2008. Its conception was in response to the increased need for high quality, client-centred physiotherapy services in Centre Wellington due to the budget constraints implemented by the provincial government on our local hospital, which reduced the community’s accessibility to publically-funded physiotherapy services. The clinic is proudly owned and operated by physiotherapist, Ronda Schnurr-Smith.

Our Mission

A community-focussed rehabilitation centre, Impact Physiotherapy and Performance is committed to providing a high quality of client-focussed care with an emphasis not only in injury recovery, but also on the prevention of injury recurrence.

Our Vision

To be recognized and respected as a premier physiotherapy practice in the area that provides up-to-date, ethical, evidence informed treatment to our clients, and places the rehabilitation needs of our clients as our first priority.

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a medical discipline that focuses on the assessment and treatment of physical dysfunction of the human body. In addition, physiotherapy also focuses on the maintenance of restored physical function in an effort to help prevent injuries from re-occurring.

What can a physiotherapist do to help you?

Regardless of how your injury or physical disability occurred, whether it was sudden or gradual, due to a surgery, work, sport, or a motor vehicle accident or the consequence of disease (example: osteoarthritis), physiotherapy may be what you need to help improve your quality of life.

Why Impact Physiotherapy and Performance?

At Impact Physiotherapy and Performance, we are committed to helping our clients improve their quality of life. Our physiotherapists will:

  • Perform a thorough assessment to identify the root of your injury or pain and formulate a treatment plan specifically to address your needs.
  • Educate you on the underlying factors that contributed to your injury in an effort to avoid a recurrence of your symptoms.
  • Provide you with a comprehensive, personalized exercise program that is specific to the recovery of your physical impairments.
  • Assist you with any questions that you might have regarding equipment, bracing or other supplies.
  • Communicate with your employer, 3rd party insurer and/or doctor if necessary about issues such as return to work, diagnostic imaging needs, etc.

Education and Academics

At Impact Physiotherapy and Performance, we are committed to mentoring students at the high school, community college, university and post-graduate levels. All health care professionals and front desk staff support this commitment by volunteering their time and expertise to supervise students from numerous academic institutions.
